Saturday, March 26, is the last Shawsville Ruritan Square Dance of the season!
That’s right, no more dancing around here until the fall. So if you want to swing your partner in these parts, you’d better do it now. You can just come and pat your foot if you want to.
Fort Vause will be be playing. Tom Angleberger will be calling. We’ll all be having a big time.
Y’all come!
It’s granny rules: No cussing or smoking or drinking or spitting on the floor.
The Meadowbrook Community Center is at 267 Alleghany Spring Road, on the corner of Allegheny Spring and U.S. 460 in the heart of Shawsville.
There’s no admission fee, but the Ruritans are asking for a $5 donation. Drinks and snacks will be available for a donation, too. The Shawsville Ruritans, famous for their Fourth of July parade and celebration, are involved in all sorts of community projects, but one of their main goals is to provide scholarships for Eastern Montgomery High School graduates bound for college.
Come on out and bring some friends! (No square dancing experience required.)
If you have questions, or want more information, email ephraimvause@aol.com or visit

We will, alas, have no dancing tractors.
